ABOUT THE ROLE
The Nurse will report to the Program Director. The main responsibilities and duties are to directly oversee all nursing needs of residential program.
The nurse will oversee all medication preparation, inventory, and storage of medications. In addition, they will supervise the weekend nursing staff and provide guidance and directives. They will work directly with parents/guardians on obtaining consent for medication dosage increase or decreases, coordinate outside medical care, and attend medical appointments as needed. In addition to the above description, the following other duties are included in this role:

Duties:
1. Oversee all nursing needs of RTC Clients
2. Prepare and fill medications; manage inventory of medications and proper storage and destruction
3. Take clients to urgent care as needed.
4. Facilitate intake and discharges on-site
5. Coordinate with outside providers, as necessary
6. Coordinate lab requests from Attending Physician
7. Communicate with staff client nursing/medical needs (ensure things like peanut allergies are communicated
8. Maintain compliance standards for licensing and accrediting bodies
9. Provide support to Residential Counselors, as needed

Requirements:
1. Licensed Vocational Nurse in state of CA
2. Direct experience working with adolescents in a behavioral health care setting
3. Previous work experience in a mental health setting
4. Able to multi-task and have excellent time management and organizational skills
5. Able to communicate effectively with clients, staff, colleagues, and supervisors
6. Must possess the ability to stay calm in stressful situations and respond to emergencies appropriately
7. Need to understand the importance of working collaboratively with supervisors, management and colleagues
8. Exude a respectful and professional demeanor and demonstrate appropriate boundaries with clients

Compensation: $70,000-$75,000 per year plus benefits
