Job Opening: Part-Time Museum Director
The Director of Museum Tours is responsible for overseeing all group tours, survivor talks, tour outreach, teacher programs, tour data management, visitor experience, and supervising volunteer docents. Orange County Holocaust Education Center will service thousands of students each year, educating them on the important lessons of the Holocaust.
Location: Orange County, CA
Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 10am – 3pm. May involve minimal work on some evenings and
weekends.
Duties:
1. Oversee and grow all aspects of OCHEC tour program
2. Outreach to and develop new partnerships including schools, houses of worship,
universities, and special interest groups
3. Organize, recruit, and manage docent volunteers; organize and schedule docent
trainings.
4. Develop and review curricular materials, and conceive hands-on projects, for students to
leave with “A Call to Action”
5. Represent the Center and interface with students, teachers, principals, educators,
Holocaust Survivors, and the public
Requirements:
1. Relevant work experience with a background in marketing, developing programs, Jewish education, Museum education, non-profit work, or related fields
2. Flexible problem solver, proactively handling any arising issues
3.Management and/or supervisor experience
4.Excellent organization skills, time management
5 Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant technology
6. Knowledge of and/or passion for Holocaust history and remembrance
Compensation: $25 per hour
