Job Opening: Part-Time Registered Dietitian for a coed adult RTC.
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Schedule: Part-Time, 20 hours per week.
Description: The Part-Time Registered Dietitian works with a multidisciplinary treatment team to provide care to clients with eating disorders, co-occurring psychiatric diagnoses, and medical conditions. The Registered Dietitian is responsible for providing evidenced based nutrition therapy to provide optimal client care.
Duties:
1. Provide nutrition counseling for clients with various eating disorder diagnoses
2. Complete coinciding session, group, treatment planning documentation
3. Provide psychoeducation about eating disorders and effects of eating disorder behaviors on the relationship with food, movement, and the body
4.Run Nutrition Education groups
5. Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings on a weekly basis
6. Coordinate care with outside treatment providers
7. Multidisciplinary team communication on a daily basis
8. Create meal plans to support Nutrition rehabilitation for clients with eating disorders
9. Oversee meals prepared for clients on-site
10.Conducts individual and group exposures in RTC and in the community
11. Conducts weekly group dinner outing
12. Facilitate nutrition family sessions as needed for clients and support person(s)
13. Facilitate family meals as needed for clients and their guardians and/or support person(s)
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or related field required
2. License/Credential: Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration CDR – California RD/RDN
3. 2 years minimum of experience as a Registered Dietitian, 2 years eating disorder preferred.
4. 1 Year of Nutrition Counseling Experience
5. Treatment Center experience preferred
6. Current CPR and First Aid Certification on file (within 30 davs of hire)
7. Able to maintain a professional manner with staff, clients, and visitors.
8. Able to work in a fast paced setting, under pressure, and maintain open, and proper communication.
9. Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
10. Good physical and mental health.
11. Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
12. Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or employees of an organization.
13. Ability to relate harmoniously with staff and clients of diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds
14. Experience in providing direct services to individuals, families and groups.
15. Good Computer skills. Ability to navigate an Electronic Health Records System. Kipu experience a plus.
16. Demonstrate professionalism, and strong boundaries with the clients.
Compensation: $45 per hour.
