Job Opening: Director of Center for Achievement and Learning (CAL)

Location:  Los Angeles, California

Schedule:
During the school year:  Monday – Thursday: 7:45 AM- 5:00 PM, Friday: 7:45 AM – 2:45 PM
During the summer (1 month): 40 hours per week, flexible hours and days

Description:

The Director of CAL is responsible for establishing and promoting a welcoming and supportive learning environment, in which all Yavneh students are inspired, challenged and empowered to reach their full potential within the context of their school, community, and society.

Duties:

1. Planning the school’s faculty professional development, student programming, and parent education programs.
2. Coordinating the ERB testing, grading and preparing the data for reports.
3. Sits on the student admissions committee, evaluating transcripts and preparing plans for all new students.
4. Monitoring progress of all Yavneh students.
5. Coordinating and facilitating team meetings with staff and parents.
6. Providing resources/referrals/information for parents of struggling students and coordinating all on-campus private support personnel.
7. Supervising all teachers and overseeing the CAL team.
8. Recruiting and hiring CAL staff.
9. Managing the CAL budget.
10. Serving as a liaison between LAUSD, allied professionals and the school.
11. Other duties as needed.

Requirements:

1. MA in Psychology, Educational Therapy, or Special Education required.
2. 5 years experience (minimum) as a school-based director of educational support services.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Office, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SmartBoard, Google etc.
4. Excellent organizational skills
5. Strong communication (verbal and written) skills
6. Excellent group presentation skills
7. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
8. Classroom experience preferred.

Compensation:  $110,000-$120,000 plus benefits
